Riding the new Trek Remedy in the Land of the Small Dogs! Part 2

Published Jan 29, 2008 at 16:57
Awhile back I got the opportunity to have a go on Treks new All-Mountain platform, the Remedy 9. Trek chose Mexico as the location and for good reason. Good weather, great food, and amazing trails! In part 1 you were introduced to Trek's newest machine, the Remedy. I got technical on you and showed you what makes a Remedy a Remedy, told you how our first few rides went and you got to read about the Valley of the Monks.

Part 2 has even more about Trek's new bike, some amazing pictures and the story of our ride into Copper Canyon.

Stuff Mike Rides #7

Published Jan 6, 2008 at 11:04
I go through a lot of different bike parts and gear. Some of it wears out or breaks, some of it I really regret buying, and some of it I swear by. Stuff Mike Rides will show up every now and then, whenever I get around to writing it. All of the stuff that I don't feel like writing a 9000 word review on will be in one of these. More than anything though 'Stuff Mike Rides' will be about how things held up over the long haul.

Featured in Volume #7 is my I-Beam post and matching I-Fly seat, Troy Lee D2 carbon helmet being modeled by Cori's mom, and just for all the carbon haters out there I have my thoughts on MRP's System 3 done in full carbon!

Riding the new Trek Remedy 9 in the Land of the Small Dogs! Part 1

Published Jan 3, 2008 at 0:03
Leaving the rain and gloom behind to spend three days in Mexico on Trek's latest all-mountain steed seemed like a good way to close down 2007 in style. Ok, so it was actually a few months ago now but the sun and singletrack is still fresh in my mind. Actually, I think getting to ride the new Remedy 9 with Shandro may have been my last dry ride!

Fresh Meat - Served Warm to You This Fall!

Published Nov 17, 2007 at 20:56
This Freshmeat has everything you need all served on one big platter. If you need a little extra stoke to get you out there on your bike this fall then pop a copy of Vicious Circle into your player, you'll need to hit the rewind button a few times when you see the 65ft double road gap! Before you head out, replace those toe-clips with a set of Axioms RoadGap pedals in white and get out there in the mud! The Germans are all over this platter with the 6" travel Magura Woton fork and Louise 8" brakes. After a big day on the hill you'll want to look your best while on the town so pick up the new Pinkbike T-shirt, cut the sleeves off and unleash those guns into the night!

I Missed The Premier Of NWD 8 To Get This Update Done!

Published Sep 27, 2007 at 0:19
I am pretty sure that Interbike is held in the biggest room in the world. It is simply massive, atleast 7 square miles of bikes, probably bigger actually! So this year, instead of wasting my time in there, I decided to hire a bum to take my pics while I tan by the pool instead. This is what "Hungry Pete" came out with. If you don't like it then take it up with him....

Interbike Dirt Demo: Day 2!

Published Sep 25, 2007 at 20:57
Even though we got a late start and pretty much spent the whole day looking for shade, I think we still managed to exceed expectations for Day 2 of the Dirrrrty Demo. The expectations are set quite low though so it wasn't to hard. Chris King is showing off a 1.5" headset and 150mm hub, '08 Manitou Travis, and some killer brakes from a few different people. There's a bunch more in here so read on....

Dirrrrty Day at the Dirt Demo

Published Sep 25, 2007 at 1:19
Day One of the Outdoor Demo went off today at Bootleg Canyon, about 30 minutes out of Vegas. Outerbike is a great chance for retailers to ride the bikes that they will be pushing next season, and helps decide which models and brands they will bring in. Not for us though. We lazed around in the sun all day, tanning, drinking beer, and creeping on ladies. When we needed a break from that we snapped a few shots of the latest and greatest for you to check out. So check it out.

White Bros. Groove Race Fork

Published Sep 12, 2007 at 19:28
How much do you really need? If you didn't have 40mm stanctions or 8" of travel would you be able to go just as fast or send it just as big? What if I said you could loose a minimum of a full pound of weight off the front of your bike?

Enter the White Brothers Groove Race fork. 7" of travel, 32mm stanction tubes and weighing in at 5.2lbs! Can it compete with other bigger and badder forks out there and is it the right fork for you?
