Camelbak Havoc Review

Published Sep 10, 2007 at 18:42
It's good to be ready for things that could happen out on the hill. From a flat tire or a broken chain to that 2 hour scenic loop that turned out to be a 5 hour death ride, you need to have what you'll require to get home. Maybe you are the guy who always carries tools or maybe you're the dude who is always relying on other people. Either way the CamelBak Havoc can do the job. Especially if you are the dude that never has any tools on him....

Testing, Testing, 1...2...3...

Published Jul 22, 2007 at 19:13
We have a few choice parts being put to the test over the next few warm summer months here in B.C. Call it what you want but I like to think of it as the "fillet mignon" of our Fresh Meat articles if you will. This is just to wet your appetite for now but expect full length pieces later in the summer on the super trick Industry Nine DH wheelset, White Brother's 5.2lb DH fork and the much anticipated Cane Creek DoubleBarrel shock.

Project Bike: Orange 224

Published Jun 13, 2007 at 20:01
Its a new year and after 2 seasons on my last steed I am lucky enough to be able to build up my new ride for the '07 season. While today's off the shelf rigs can offer an amazing value for what you pay, I wanted to build something unique that stands out a bit. What I ended up with is a 36.3 lbs coil sprung DH bike that you won't see anywhere else.

Magura 2008 brakes and forks.

Published Jun 3, 2007 at 19:10
Just last week I was invited to enjoy the epic riding in Sedona, Arizona. The only thing better than leaving the wet spring weather behind was that the reason I was spending 3 days in such a beautiful place was to get some early rides in on the 2008 Magura brakes and forks.

Giant Reign X0: Is this the XC rider's DH bike or the DH rider's XC bike?

Published Mar 22, 2007 at 21:09
Giant is a huge player in the world of bikes. By looking at Giant's bikes from the past you can tell they do their homework before letting the public spend their hard earned money on one of their creations. Nothing with funny geometry or weird and unproven parts spec, just solid well thought out bikes. The Reign X0 that I have been rolling on lately has been no different.

A Third Virgin And Finally Some Luck! Part 1 of 1

Published Feb 15, 2007 at 18:15
I think we’re in Idaho. I might not be sure of our exact location but I am positive that of the three dirt covered men in this truck, one of us has a “flatulence problem” worthy of seeing a specialist for. For some reason though, its just as funny now as it was seven days ago when we left snowy and wet Chilliwack for the 24 hour drive south to Virgin, Utah.

LaPierre DH 230-Oui it is French!

Published Feb 8, 2007 at 17:50
Not to many riders know of LaPierre this side of the Atlantic. The only reason I was aware of them was through their high end road bike line, me being a closet roadie. It looks as though they plan to make a big push in '07 with their new mountain bike line though. In fact they have enlisted Nico Vouilloz (google that name, groms) to help develop their DH230 downhill bike.

Hello, my name is: Travis (2 impressions on one fork)

Published Jan 4, 2007 at 17:36
Next to purchasing an entirely new bike, bolting on some new suspension has got to be the biggest change you can make to your regular routine. And when you think about it there actually is not that many choices when deciding on a new long travel super fork. Unless you get off the beaten path, you really only have four or five names to choose from. Each of these forks brings something a little different to the table. The key is to do your homework before buying. When I was trying to pick a new fork for my own bike I had a hard time finding any sort of info on [L=http://www.answerproducts.com]Manitou’s Travis[/L]. Since I like a bit of mystery I thought I’d give one a go and let everyone know how it performs.

303 First Ride Impressions, The extended version.

Published Nov 7, 2006 at 17:02
Lets set the scene first. 120 degree heat, zero shade and all you have to drink is near boiling hot Citrus Fruit Cytomax. Not a good picture right? Now how long would you put up with that just to ride a bicycle? Apparently not as long as me. I spent one and a half hours working on my sunstroke just to pedal a bicycle down a hill, does that sound desperate? Yes, but thats something I need to work on down the road.

Its over people. We got to see a few bikes and the odd bike part while at the big show. Some of it was super cool, some of it made me scratch my head and a lot of it made me shake my head. Below are some of my personal favorites from my week in Sin City.
