Norco bikes - Interbike 2009

Day One of Interbike's Outdoor Demo went off today at the notorious Bootleg Canyon venue. There was a load of excited riders, tons of bikes, and some cactus to round things out. While there is plenty to come, we are going to start things off with a closer look at a few interesting bikes from friends at Norco.

We'll start with the most versatile bike of the bunch, the LT 6.1. This is the category of bike that makes sense for a lot of riders, with adjustable travel up to 6.2", a tapered head tube, and even a HammerSchmidt on this top of the line version, these are bikes that can work well in nearly any environment. Built to be tough and versatile, the LT is a slightly longer travel and slacker version of the original Fluid line.

• Travel on all LT frames is adjustable from 137 mm to 158 mm
• All LT frames feature tapered head tubes for a stiffer and more precise front end
• Available in four sizes - XS to L
• 68 degree head angle (67.5 on XS)
Norco Team DH
Next up is the heavy hitting and long legged Team DH. Bred to be a full-on DH race bike, the Team DH sports 9" of travel out back and a Rockshox Boxxer Team fork up front. Gone are the wacky curved and polished tubes, in their place is a more traditional frame with a lower center of gravity that should appeal to more riders.

Norco A-Line
The A-line yet again has an important place in Norco's lineup of long travel bikes. The bang for your buck ripper is back for '10 and ready for action. Take it to the bike park all summer long or shuttle it every day on your local mountain, the A-Line is the bike for general shredding and all around abuse.
• A-Line park frame with 9" or rear wheel travel
• Fox DHX Coil 4.0
• Marzocchi 888 RCV fork
• 64 degree head angle
Norco 250
Norco's 250 is exactly what a lot of DJ riders are looking for these days. With slim, but strong steel tubing and a compact drivetrain it looks the part and should be ready to rip.

Norco Fluid 2
The LT's little brother, the Fluid series is a lighter and firmer AM bike with a bit less travel than the LT lineup. Built with light all-mountain components, the Fluid is the bike for those big excursions when you don't exactly know what is over that next rise.
• FSR rear suspension adjustable from 116 mm to 143 mm of travel
• Rockshox suspension paring of a Recon Solo Air fork and Monarch shock
• XT/Deore drivetrain mix and Elixer brakes
• Available from XS to XL
• 69 degree head angle (68.5 on XS)
Norco Shore 3
Norco's Shore platform has been in a constant evolution since it's inception. Originally built with Vancouver's North Shore mountains in mind, thanks to the advancement of trails all around the world, the Shore bikes will be at home in many other places. While put together smart enough to be able to survive any stunt, all Shore models can still be ridden to the summit of any hill.

Norco Faze
The Faze is Norco's go-fast and go-long bike. Built for XC but ready to get rough, the 120 mm travel Faze would be at home on any mega epic or marathon race. Pack up your big backpack and leave a note as to where you're trying to go because this is the kind of bike that could take you there, or strap on a number plate and get your hurt on at the races.

Loving the new A - Line and the new 250 so nice !!!!! 
yeah all the bikes are lookin pretty good! maybe except for the paint on the team dh, but other than that its definitely a improvement from last year
i love the team dh, but to me it looks lie a knockoff of the 09 rocky mountain flatline pro, not the colors, just the frame desighn...that my oopinion though
damn, norco really is workin' it this year. their bikes are looking pretty a'ight for norcos, but after their big recall they need it.
yeah i bouught the 09 instead of the 2010 because of this reason...people gave me shit for it...do you guys think i made the right decision? the 2010 was 300 dollars more but i still got the 09
Bike Buster, i actually was once hating on the 09 Team, but in person it looks nice. so no matter what. i think you did make the right choice. but remember your not on this site to prove other ppl anything. this site is to prove to your self, and to be use as a resource site .

Teamn2, i completely agree. the pictures dont do justice for how nice it actually is when you see it in person!
have to admit, the 250 looks pretty awesome! but the a-line i agree with snook looks like a tesco bike
if i saw some 2010 boxxers on a bike in tesco id be buzzin haha!!

am a norco rider at the moment and have had most of there full sussers since 2006 , currently on an 07 a.line . am lovin the fact the bendy tubing has gone and were back to a more traditional layout . new a.line looks well worth a thrash . good job guys

its kind of hard to explain, but kind of like a demo since they both use FSR linkage. it was awesome on rocky trails because u could use tons of travel and still have plebty left, and it was really good on drops, i tried to bottom it out but i couldnt. im planning on getting the frame
Hey there, how would it handle on general trails? Or would it be a bear? I'm on the edge of either the 2010 Team DH or the 2010 Shore One.
well i rode it on A line and No Duff, which are completely opposite trails, and it handled both like a beast. the frame wasnt as flickable as say, a demo 7, but i would get it for a trail that has a wide variety of features.
Thanks d-bax, with a price spread dif of around 250, I've been really leaning towards dropping the extra cash on the Team DH cus it would basically need nothing other than body armour and good mediacl insurance plan ;-)

u dont even need body armor, i rode 3 days of whistler with only knee pads and nothing happened. and i was riding a bighit. on double blacks 
i would still have armour i have crashed on whistler and stuff both both time i have crashed on whistler had i not been wearing armour i probably would have broken my collar bone each time
I hear ya terror, I would get bashed by my friends with Oryx bikes, but now my old tricked out Norco Cherokee hardtail is still going strong with a new owner while their rides have faded into big-box store memories.

I liked the 08-09 shores because they had the bent top tube , made it easier to do tricks like can-cans and stuff. But its good to move on .
Loved my 2010 Empire 5 SE. Really hyped to ride some new stuff from Norco, their stuff just keeps getting better.
That's sick man. Yeah that is kind of what I was doing too. I tested/demoed one for a few weeks when I was living in Whistler. Norco and Pinkbike were nice enough to hook me up with that sick bike. I believe I am getting back the bike after interbike and will be writing a full front page review on Pinkbike so look out for that! Glad to hear others are loving the bike too.
The Aline and the 250 look mint. but the rest specially including the team DH if it werent for the brakes, and fork etc i would have had mistaken it for a CCM or a shwin
Anyone heard anything about Norco's 2010 trials frame? Are they even making one any more? Either way, I love the new A-line.
the 2010 a-line rides good, good angles. finally a size large downhill bike from them.

i just don't understand how they thought that paint on the team dh would look good.. at least they got rid of those fugly coloured tires on the 250
